With a farming background starting in Neridup, Esperance in the early 1960s and then Woorlba station on the Eyre hwy in the 70s & 80s, conserving / saving water was the goal in removing silt / mud from the stock water dams.
This technique was developed with an old station drag-line to remove silt and leave the water to utilize existing feed in the vicinity. In 1989 John Robertson used the old equipment to develop the scoop and techniques, and with encouragement from local (Esperance) farmers, started a commercial venture, Robco Dam Cleaning. In 1993 the Robertsons started building a specific purpose winch rig, and at this time Mike Oversby joined the team. By march 1994 John and Mike had completed the Dam Cleaning Rig, and continued to work and develop the business throughout the W.A. wheat belt. |

In 2012 the now “old Rig “ was running out of steam, so John and Mike embarked on the mammoth task to build a New hydraulically powered winch Rig. After 16 months, a little under 4,600 hrs, and a lot of $$. We now have a powerful and efficient unit to deliver the service to the farming community and others. We look forward to continue developing and delivering our unique service.
